Following closely on the heels of Heritage High number is the farm system version of the product.  While Pro-Debut provides minor league cards in the flagship design, Heritage Minor League gives the stars of tomorrow the retro treatment in full Heritage fashion.

This is a hobby only release, and it comes at a bit lower price point when compared to the regular set.  Hobby boxes contain 18 packs with 8 cards in each pack.  

Once again, the 1969 Topps design is used for the release and the insert sets capitalize on the opportunity to remember the fun elements of the original release.  In typical Heritage fashion, the base set is made up of a combination of standard issue and short printed cards.  Cards 1-200 contain some of the biggest names in MiLB like Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Hunter Greene, Estevan Florian, and Eloy Jimenez.  The short printed 201-220 add cards for Joe Adell, Michel Baez, and Brendan McKay among others.

No Heritage product would be complete without variations, and 2018 Minors doesn’t disappoint with 20 image and circle color variations to chase.  1969 Deckle Edge and Collector Cards represent the primary insert cards of the release.  

Each box of the Minor League product contains both an autograph and a relic card with each having varying levels of exclusivity.      At the time of this post, there is not much excitement for this year’s autograph checklist, but as with many prospect based sets, time will tell if there are some hidden gems to be found.

This is another product in my “Two Case” experiment however due to a mixup I ended up getting refunded for both cases. That was a pretty frustrating experience as I was really looking forward to opening a bunch of this. I was able to pick up a couple boxes during the Blowout Black Friday sale so I will still be able to put together the complete set for my PC.

If you count the redemption, I actually ended up with a bonus auto. Not too shabby! I got all 200 cards from the base set, but there are still quite a few Short Print singles I’ll need to pick up on Sportlots. I’m kind of a sucker for inserts, and the Deckle Edge and yellow Collector Cards have just enough uniqueness to draw me in. Over time, I’ll probably go ahead and put together the full master set.
