2021 Topps 582 Montgomery Club Set #5 Review and Checklist
The 5th and final set of the 2021 Topps 582 Montgomery Club year was delivered and had a pretty nice mix of rookies and veterans.
Each card in the 20 card “mini-set” features the same black bordered design. The team names are inside a red bar at the top of the card and feature a yellow block font. No team logos are present, except for the logos found on the players hat in their photo.

Speaking of the photos, I’m going to nickname this the “Mugshot set”. Well over half the cards in the set show a chest up shot of the player in front of a grey or black background. It totally reminds me of a mug shot. The Trout and Acuna photos are especially prominent as they are showing no emotion in the photo.
This set also contained an auto. Mine was Bobby Bradley (who was not actually part of the regular checklist). The interesting thing about this card is that it is one of the first Cleveland Guardians cards produced, and it may in fact be the first Cleveland Guardians autographed card. I was able to quickly sell it via Twitter, which was nice because I’m not a Cleveland or Bobby Bradley collector. I’ve included the full checklist below, and as you will see, 8 of the 20 cards in the set are rookies. That seems like a pretty good mix. Also, many of these Montgomery Club sets have retired vets, but this set only has current players.
More often than not I’ve been a fan of these Montgomery designs, but I’m not a big fan of this one.
