2022 Topps 582 Montgomery Club Set #3 Set Review
Wander Mania has come to the Montgomery Club!
The third “mini-set” for the 2022 Topps 582 Montgomery Club has been released and it follows in the same path we’ve seen over the years.
The 20 card set has a design reminiscent of 1982 Topps with the two “hockey stick” shaped bars coming down the left side of the card and then curving to extend across the bottom of the card. Only two sets of colors are used for the bars in this set. An orange and blue combination is used for the National League players, and a red and purple combination is found on the American League players.
The star of the show is the much hyped prospect Wander Franco. Upon initial release, his card from this set was selling for about $40. Here is a direct eBay link if you want to see where they are at today! As is typically the case, the rest of the checklist is made up of other rookies, current stars, and a handful of retired veterans.
Overall, I thought this was a good mix of vets, rookies, and retired players. We get cards of some more “mid-tier” stars which is a nice change of pace! I continue to be happy with what Topps is delivering with the club!
