In my ongoing quest to expand my hobby knowledge, I decided to open and write about some soccer cards. I wrote about my first order of soccer from DA Card World in Stuff I Know Nothing About. Well, one of the free gifts I received with one of these orders was a few hobby packs of 2017-18 Topps Premier League Gold.
The Breakdown
This set released in the US in March of 2018. Each case contained 8 boxes, with 24 packs of 5 cards in each box.
The base set contains 150 cards of some of the most popular Premier League players in the game. Three base parallels can be found at varying levels of scarcity. Green fall 1:4 packs, Red fall 1:8 packs, and Yellow fall 1: 12 packs.
Three inserts sets are randomly included and have numbering that extends the set from 151-200. The Terace Hero set has 20 cards and in inserted 1:4 packs. The Premier Elite set has 10 cards and are more limited falling 1:8 packs. Finally, the Team Leader Set has 20 cards and goes back to the 1:4 pack odds. Each of the insert sets have a “foil” finish to them, and three parallels also exist for each card.
Finally, each hobby box promises two autographs. The auto checklist only contains 20 cards, and similar to the base and insert sets, three parallels of varying levels of scarcity exist.

I opened four packs and posted the video below!
I was pumped to pull an auto. I kind of figured these “free gift” packs were leftover contents of boxes where the autos had already been pulled. I did get one green parallel card of Luka Milivojevic, and I did get a couple insert cards.
Wrapping It Up
The card stock is quality, and I really like how the foil pops on the insert cards. With there only being 20 autos, this is actually a set where a full master set with base, inserts, and autos would be within reach for EPL fans! Base sets can be found for about $25 and master sets with all the inserts are running around $100 on eBay. Sealed boxes can be found on eBay for $40-$50, but they are no longer available on Blowout or DA as of the time of this post.
