The third set from the 2020 Topps 582 Montgomery Club started arriving in members’ mailboxes in late April and early May.
It was a 20 card set which is based on the “lost” design of a 1969 baseball poster.
The front of the card shows the player’s photo centered within a white circle. The player and team name are centered within a pennant at the bottom of the card. There are four main border colors, and the checklist alternates between blue, yellow, orange, and green.
As we’ve come to expect from the Montgomery Club sets, the checklist contains a mix of rookies, retired legends, and other current stars with a heavy focus on rookies. Eight of the twenty cards are rookies like Yordan Alvarez, and four more were rookies last year. Ken Griffey Jr. and Vladimir Guerrero are the two retired Hall of Fame legends in this set.
This third set also included an autograph, and it appears each player in the checklist is a possible auto. However, some players are more prevalent than others.
Check out the unboxing of my set!
My auto was Eloy Jimenez of the White Sox!
I continue to be pleased with this the 582 Montgomery Club program from Topps, and I can’t wait to see what the next set brings!
